Lipoas 100-T를 이용한 Calcium stearate 생산공정의 Scale-up 인자 연구

Calcium stearte is used as waterproof agent in fiber, cement, brick and explosives etc. In this study, Lipolase 100-T was used to produce calcium stearate from hydrogenated beef tallow. Optimal conditions of impeller size and agitation speed were investigated for process scale up. Two different types of impeller were used for the scale up experiments. The first type had two different blades whose diameters were 30% and 45% of the diameter of reactor, the diameters of the second type were 50% and 70%. The rotation speed used for the scale-up was ranged from 250 to 700rpm. In case of the first type of impeller, the reaction yield was 70 to 80% after 4 hour of calcium stearate synthesis. However, the reaction yield was over 90% after 4 hour of the reaction using the 700rpm. The second type of impeller produced more than 90% yield regardless of the change of rotation speed in the range of 250 to 550rpm. The reaction rate was increased according to the agitation speed for both the first and second type of impellers. The final yeilds of the second type impeller were almost same irrespective of rotation speed. The highest calcium stearate yield was 98.01% at 450rpm with the second type impeller.
