Large-Surface Nafion-Metal Composite Actuator의 개발과 전기화학적 특성 연구
초록
Ion-exchange polymer membrane metallic composites(IMPC) are one of the electroactive polymers(EAP) that were shown to have potential application as actuator. Behaviors of Nafion-based actuators are significantly affected by solution compositions, electrode preparation method and other factors. Under a high electric field, the extent of displacement becomes large but an unwanted solution electrolysis can take place. Electrochemical interpretation indicated that, ahead of solution electrolysis, nonfaradaic reaction, i.e., double layer charging, occurs and charging current is related to the electrode surface area and wide working-potential window are required. This work employed a newly-developed replication technique for preparing a composite actuator and investigated the ionic motion and water decomposition in the presence of different additives by using an impedance analyzer and cyclic voltammetry.
