Anal Leiomyoma

초록

-Introduction Leiomyoma of the anorectal region are exceedingly rare, benign tumors with an estimated incidence of <0.1% of all anorectal neoplasm. So we are going to report 1 case of anal leiomyoma. -Methods A 46-YEAR-OLD woman was admitted to our institution with a gradually enlarging anal mass. We run some tests for evaluation, digital rectal exam, abdomen-pelvis CT, colonoscopy, and revealed a firm perianal mass under the anal mucosa and skin. Complete local excision of the subcutaneous and submucosal lesion was performed. -Result The lesion was solid, firm, lobulated, and encapsulated. The tumor measured 2.5 X 3 3 cm. The operative margins were negative and there was no mucosal or sphincter invasion. Frozen biopsy examination revealed a spindle cell tumor without cytological atypia or necrosis. The tumor cells were positive for smooth muscle markers desmin and a-smooth muscle actin, and negative for CD 34, C-kit and S100 by immunohistochemical examination. The final diagnosis was leiomyoma. -Conclusion In patients with leiomyoma, operative removal of the lesion with negative margins was considered to be treatment goal with extended follow-up.
