This study introduces a facile method for fabricating nano-confined catalysts within carbon molecular sieves (CMS). The prepared catalysts represent uniformly confined nanoparticles and high specific surface area of similar to 10 nm and 1211 m(2) g(- 1), respectively. The elevated mesopore ratio up, to 18.7%, improves mass transfer. Notably, catalytic performance for nitrogen oxide direct decomposition exhibits conversions, reaction rates, and selectivity reaching 85%, 0.15 mu mol g(- 1) s(- 1), and 95%, respectively. Moreover, the conversion and selectivity maintain 75 and 90% over 80 h, respectively. These results are attributed to reactive surface atoms within porous supports and mass transfer from hierarchical CMS supports.
