A study on Revitalization of Urban Waterfront from the viewpoint of Placeness on Perimeter space in the City

초록

The study, departing from the understanding of the placeness, aims at proposing a strategy of designing a waterfront area neglected and abandoned in the city due to radical urban development. The study attempts to investigate the substance of placeness, to explore how to achieve the placeness in design process, and to analyze identity and individuality under the condition of achievement of placeness in the real site. The study proceeds a design experiment in a real site, the Majiagou Riverfront, reviews the previous theoretical study, and verifies the design adequacy.
