Aero-acoustic prediction of noise from fluid machinery of mobility equipment

초록

Mobility market is recently driven by electrification, and this trend of development changes typical noise source mechanism from fluid-borne ones rather than from combustion engines in the mobility equipment. In this study we predict and verify the noises from fluid machineries e.g. a construction machinery cooling fan and a manned drone propeller through the FW-H equation. In order to verify the CAA code, we compare the predicted noise fields with experimentally measured ones in a semi-anechoic chamber for the rotating fluid machineries of concern. Specifically, the unsteady fluid domains are solved by using LES and the radiated dipole sounds are computed via the FW-H equation. This research will contribute to provide digital twin data for aerodynamic and acoustic fields in mobility equipments.
