Assessment of Vertical Motion Reduction of a Floater due to Interaction between Floating and Submerged Bodies
초록
The aim of this study is to investigate the vertical motion reduction of a floating body, such as marina or ferry dock, by interaction between floating and submerged bodies. Firstly, wave tank experiments were performed in a two-dimensional wave flume. Moreover, incident wave conditions which are regular wave and irregular wave were used to input conditions of the experiments. This paper focus on an analysis on vertical behavior of floating body in irregular wave conditions. The experimental model is allowed to move only in the vertical direction and connected by four springs between two bodies. Therefore, the bodies are considered as two-degree-of-freedom system. Various projected areas of submerged body and spring coefficients are applied to predict the maximal reduction of vertical motion of the floater. To find an optimal condition for maximal vertical motion reduction, the area of heave RAO near the resonant frequency is compared under various model conditions. Finally, the optimal condition for maximal motion reduction of the floater can be assessed.
