Hard probes measured at ALICE
초록
We present the recent heavy-ion collision results from hard scattering processes at ALICE. High-pT hadrons are suppressed in heavy-ion collisions compared to proton-proton collisions, including those hadrons with heavy quarks. Jets are suppressed and the effects increasing with the centrality of the heavy-ion collision. The heavy-ion measurements are compared to those in proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions. These results compared to theory are consistent with the suppression and jet quenching being a product of parton energy loss in a hot and dense QCD medium. The correlation results indicate that the parton energy loss is redistributed to lower momentum particles at larger angles from the axis of the hard-scattered parton.
