Trends and Future Directions for Security of Wearable Devices

Currently, the market scale and usage of wearable devices are rapidly increasing. Although these devices take a crucial part of everyday life, the security technology of wearable devices has yet far to go. In order to close the gap between advancement of wearable device and its security, we explore recent trends of wearable industry and investigate state-of-art security technology in popular operating systems (i.e. Android wear and Tizen) of wearables. After that, we provide summary on active standardizations of wearable device security. Finally, we provide future directions of wearable devices security in upcoming era.
