Optimization of Waveguide devices by using 3-dimensional numerical analysis methods

Optimization of waveguide devices based on the 3-dimensional treatment like the 3D-BPM and 3D-mode solver is newly proposed. This method has been highly effective in the design and optimization of multimode interference devices and arrayed waveguide devices.
