Differentiation of Congestion and Wireless Losses in Multi-flows

For using TCP over wireless link, the differentiation of congestion and wireless loss is important issue. Previous researches have high misclassification rate of wireless packet loss in the multi-flows. To solve this problem, we propose a novel end-to-end loss differentiation algorithm (LDA) that uses ROTT and a relationship between the interarrival time and interdeparture time. We evaluate proposed LDA with simulations using the Reno TCP. We compare the proposed LDA with previous researches in terms of throughput and misclassfication rate. The results show that the proposed scheme improves the performance in multi-flows because it decreases misclassification rate of wireless packet loss.
