Characterization of Spray-Deposited PEDOT: PSS Layer Treated by Ethylene Glycol
초록
Conducting polymer layer of PEDOT:PSS was prepared on glass substrate by spray coating process for applications as electrode to flexible electronic devices: spray pressure of 2 bar; hot-plate temperature of 120 ?C. A post-deposition-immersion process was then carried out for the PEDOT:PSS layers in aqueous solution of ethylene glycol. Duration of the immersion in ethylene glycol was varied from 1 to 10 min to investigate effect. Characteristics of the resulting PEDOT:PSS layers with and without the ethylene glycol treatment were examined: (1) XPS for investigation of composition; (2) AFM for investigation of surface morphology; (3) UV/vis spectroscopy for investigation of optical transmittance; (4) Surface resistance measurement for investigation of electric conductivity. Characteristics of the spray deposited PEDOT:PSS layers were discussed in relation with effect of the ethylene glycol treatment. It was confirmed that the post-deposition treatment with ethylene glycol was effective to improve electric conductivity of the PEDOT:PSS layer.
