방향성 결합기를 이용한 열광학 스위치 설계

초록

We report on a novel directional coupler type switch based on mode transfer by thermo-optic effect. In our design, the directinal coupler switch maintains the anti-coupling by changing the refractive index in ON state and the coupling in OFF state. For the optimized switch design, our simulating study shows the extinction ratios of -30 and -28 dB in Off and ON state, respectively. THe requied variation of the refractive index for switching is only order of 10-3.
