Optical Simulation of LCDs by Using Novel Method

To obtain the molecular alignment of various LCDs, in this study, we have modified the algorithm suggested by Chen to solve the problems of system of nonlinear equations. For the optical calculation, we have adopted the Berreman's eigenvector for the analysis of anisotropic media. Through the calculation for a polarizer, TN and HAN mode, by this new method, we have compared the performance of our simulator with both of a conventional one. As a result, we have confirmed our improved simulator is superior in its speed and accuracy
