Enhancing autonomous driving reliability through DIT strategy for adaptive resource re-evaluation mechanism
초록
In 5G Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) mode 2, the resource re-evaluation mechanism, as defined by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), aims to minimize data collisions by performing an additional check for resource availability before transmission. However, this paper identifies limitations in the performance improvements provided by the existing mechanism, particularly in scenarios with periodic traffic. To address this challenge, we propose a standard-compliant Double Initial Transmission (DIT) strategy that significantly enhances the effectiveness of resource re-evaluation. The DIT strategy involves transmitting the first packet twice, using two distinct resources. One resource is released after the initial transmission, while the second is periodically reserved for subsequent packets. This approach minimizes the risk of periodic collisions and ensures efficient channel utilization. Furthermore, the reevaluation mechanism actively detects potential collisions on the second resource, ensuring enhanced reliability. Analytical results demonstrate that the proposed DIT strategy improves system performance and strengthens the reliability of 5G NR-V2X communication in periodic traffic scenarios.
