CT Findings of acute abdomen caused by intraperitoenal tuberculosis

Althouth the abdominal tuberculosis has been showed chronic process with nonspecific clinical manifestations, the acute abdomen can be developed by complication of intraperitoneal tuberculosis. The purpose of this exhibit is to present the unusual CT features of acute abdomen associated with intraperitoneal tuberculosis. Mechanical obstructions were detected in three cases including adhesive band (two) and ileocecal intussusception with leading points of mesenteric lymph node (one). Intraperitoneal abscess with ruptured necrotic lymph nodes was defectd in one, massive hematochezia with ileal ulcer bleeding in one, and panperitonitis with ileal perforation was detected in one. Multiple mesenteric lymph nodes and multi-loculated ascites were detected in five cases (83%) and three cases (50%), respectively. The associated findings were helpful for diagnosis of acute abdomen caused by complication of intraperitoneal tuberculosis.
