Silylcyanation of Ketones and Aldehydes Utilizing Chiral and Achiral Catalysts.

초록

Ketones and aldehydes undergo silylcyanation by catalytic activity of N-methyl N-oxide (NMO) or cesium fluoride (CsF). The yield of racemic trimethylsilyl ethers are always >90%. Trimethylsilyl cyanide was catalytically added to various aldehydes using chiral Al(salen) as the catalyst. The resulting silylethers were hydrolyzed to give cyanhydrins in >90% yield and >80% ee.
