A study of crack detection in containment building using Thermography with Drone
초록
Due to safety inspection and accident prevention systems for high-rise buildings and nuclear power plants increases, research is being conducted to measure defects in concrete structures by combining unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and infrared thermography. It can be especially important for detecting defects that are difficult to detect directly, such as cracks in the outer walls of containment buildings at nuclear power plants. In this study, the minimum crack detection size according to the distance was derived for the detection of concrete cracks in the outer wall of the nuclear power plant containment building using drones and infrared thermography, and an appropriate movement route was selected through the derived data. The minimum detectable crack sizes at distances of 1 ~ 5 m were found to be approximately 1.8 ~ 9.0 mm, respectively, the examination at 2 m and 3 m distances revealed the defects and optimal mapping results. The mapping conditions and minimum crack defect sizes examined in this study provide basic data for routing drone and are expected to lead to the development of more effective and efficient systems using infrared thermal imaging and drone-based defect detection technology in the future.
