초록

The objective of this study was to report the results of ceramic-on-ceramic bearing extensively porous coated AMLⓇ total hip arthroplasty in patients with osteonecrosis of the femoral head. 97 patients (112 cases) were evaluated. The mean duration of a follow-up was 43.8 months. The clinical and radiolographic results were evaluated, respectively. The mean Harris hip scores were improved from an average of 52 points to 96.2 points. On the last roentgenograms, there were no cases of aseptic loosening in the acetabular components, and one case of aseptic loosening in femoral component was observed. Osteolysis was not observed in all cases. Complications occurred in one case of a chip fracture of liner and one case in which the ceramic head was fractured. The short- and mid-term results associated with use of the ceramic-on-ceramic bearing extensively porous coated AMLⓇ THA in patients with ONFH were excellent. Key words: Osteonecrosis of the femoral head, Total hip arthroplasty, Ceramic-on-ceramic
