초록

A distinct departure from the previous studies, this study operationalizes the two dimensions of knowledge absorptive capacity (KAC) – potential absorptive capacity (PAC) and realized absorptive capacity (RAC) separately. This study builds and tests an integrated model to investigate the relationship among PAC, RAC, innovating culture (IC) and organizational innovation (OI). This study explores these relationships using a multivariate data analysis technique i.e., partial least square (PLS), a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach along with reflective-formative type hierarchical latent variables, with data sample of 347 from a multiple industrial sector in Korea. The results suggest that PAC and RAC happen in sequence and influence OI directly and via intervening variable IC. The study concludes with discussion of the findings and provides several theoretical and practical implications for further research. Key words: Knowledge absorptive capacity; Potential absorptive capacity; Realized absorptive capacity; Organizational innovation; innovating culture; SEM-PLS; Korea.
