A main focus was placed on how the scientific knowledge and the idea of economy and efficient nourishment-fundamental concept of the Japanese military diet - was popularized in colonial Korea. Yangwoohoe Korea Branch was established under the influence of the colonial government and military in 1938 with the purpose of mitigating the wartime food shortage in Korea.
