The Study of Enterprise BOM for Ship Outfitting BOM and Product Data Integration

초록

The role of BOM (Bill of Materials) is central to the integration of several information systems and the master data of an enterprise. So, it is used as a hub of product data for product design, production planning, procurement, finance and so on. Therefore, BOM involves not only part lists but also product data which defines the information of part and assembly. In shipbuilding, several investigations related to the BOM structure have been studied. However, most of the investigations on the BOM have not reflected the features of ship design, manufacturing strategy and ship product structure. On the other hand, enterprise information systems become more complicated due to the high speed computer network, internet technology. Consequently, the BOM technology has been developed into the enterprise BOM, which provides several departments with the product data and satisfies various product structures to support the product lifecycle. In this paper, analyzing a manufacturing strategy and a manufacturing planning model, we have defined the features of ship outfitting. In order to access BOM and product data, the enterprise BOM for outfitting system of marine vessels in terms of three points of view are suggested. Thereafter, we proposed the data model based on the relational database.
