PTCR characteristics of porous (Ba, Sr) (Ti,Sb)O3 thermistor newly developed by addition of corn-starch

We have found that an addition of corn-starch resulted in the PTCR jump of over 106 , which is found 1-2 orders higher than that of the (Ba, Sr) (Ti,Sb)O3 ceramics without corn-starch. We have also found that the porosity increased and the grain size decreased with increasing corn-starch. In this paper, the results on the effects of some parameters such as the corn-starch content, the sintering temperature and time on PTCR characteristics were summarized. Furthermore, the electrical properties of the (Ba, Sr) (Ti,Sb)O3 ceramics have been discussed on the results of microstructure, resistivity of grain boundaries, donor concentration of grains and the electrical potential barrier of grain boundaries.
