Recent Experiments on Switchable Reflective Polarizer in Conformal Configuration

In this study, recent experiments on conformal Switchable Reflective Polarizer (SRP) are presented under two configurations: namely flat and curved surfaces. To demonstrate the functionality of proposed SRP, two sample are fabricated and measured, one in the ON-State while another one in the OFF-State. The measurement results show that the polarization conversion from linear to circular is achieved in the OFF-State condition at the C-band frequency range, while this functionality is disabled in the ON-State condition. Furthermore, the curvature has no significant effect on the functionality of SRP, although a slight increase in reflection attenuation of 1-2 dB is observed at the curved surface compared to the flat one.
