A Study on Immateriality and Non-image Represented in Jean Nouvell's Architecture of 'Aesthetics of Vanishment'

The thesis departs from ‘heterogeneity', one of the major philosophical discourses that reflect modern society. Argument's focusing on how the changes on the cognition of 'border' is represented among all the relationships created by today's architecture, the study aims at searching for new design approaches different from existing architectural expression on the border. The study attempts to grasp the current of the border condition in architecture from evident through ambiguous to extinguished border, to examine Jean Nouvell's architecture that seeks after the aesthetics of 'vanishment', and to investigate the notion of the border with which today's architecture is confront in the sense of epistemology and phenomenology.
