Adsorption of multi-walled carbon nanotubes onto poly(methylmethacrylate) microsphere and its electrorheology
초록
Nanofibers of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) nanocomposites containing well dispersed multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) were prepared via an in-situ bulk polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) in the presence of carbon nanotubes (CNTs), followed by the electrospinning process. Dispersion of the CNTs in the electrospun nanofibers was far superior to the conventional polymer composites with CNTs dispersed using surfactants. MWNTs in the nanofibers were found to align along the fiber axis. Surface morphology and electrical conductivity of the electrospun nanofibers of PMMA/MWNT nanocomposites were investigated as a function of the MWNT content.
