초록

We propose a polarization beam splitter (PBS) based on a directional coupler having bridged waveguides. The numerically simulated results show that the polarization extinction ratios of the PBS with 7.5-μm-long coupling length and 550 nm-wide bridged waveguides width are about 29 dB, 23 dB for TE and TM modes, respectively. The insertion loss of the device is about 0.5 dB for both polarization modes.
