산 가수분해를 활용한 담수 미세조류 Coelastrum pulchrum으로부터의 가수분해물 생산 향상

초록
Microalgae are valuable biological resources capable of producing abundant carbohydrates for a wide range of bio-based applications. In this study, we aimed to develop an efficient acid-catalyzed saccharification process using the indigenous freshwater microalga Coelastrum pulchrum, which is characterized by high carbohydrate content and robust growth performance. Analysis of carbohydrate content variations during cultivation revealed that harvesting the biomass on day 8 resulted in the highest carbohydrate productivity (0.169 ± 0.002 g/L/day). Comparative evaluation of acid catalysts (HCl, H2SO4, and HNO3) demonstrated that H2SO4 was the most suitable considering both efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Saccharification experiments with varying H2SO4 concentrations (1%-9%) indicated that 3% H2SO4 achieved a saccharification yield of 74.5 ± 2.1%. Optimization of the solid-to-liquid ratio between H2SO4 and biomass identified 0.08 as the optimal condition. Finally, based on these optimized parameters, experiments varying reaction temperature and time showed that treatment at 120°C for 60 minutes produced the maximum saccharification yield of 96.3 ± 0.6%. Collectively, this study presents an effective strategy for the acid-catalyzed saccharification of microalgal biomass, providing a promising approach for carbohydrate utilization from C. pulchrum.
