초록

Transfection of clusterin cDNA into duct cells resulted in 2.5 fold increase in cell proliferation. We also found that overexpression of clusterin induces transformation of uncharacterized duct cells into differentiated ones displaying cytokeratin immunoreactivity. This line of evidences suggested that clusterin might play essential roles in renewal of pancreatic tissue by stimulating the proliferation as well as differentiation of ductal cells in early phase of regeneration after Px. Taken together, we conclude that clusterin may act as a regulatory molecule by paracrine or autocrine actions in the process of modeling and remodeling for pancreatic tissues including islet formation, cyto-protection and regeneration of pancreatic tissue.
