초록
The Peace Dam was built primarily to protect flooding from Kumgangsan Dam currently under construction in North Korea and has direct effects on hydrological characteristics of the Hwacheon Dam(H-Dam) located downstream in South Korea. This paper is a review of the role of the Peace Dam and its use in connection with H-dam for the purpose of both flood control and water conservation. This study suggests the most efficient policies for using the unused capacity of the Peace Dam. Also, a possible scenario with severe flood inflows from North Korea is considered.
