Real-world data of the correlation between mean diastolic pressure gradient and mitral valve area in severe mitral stenosis

MVA under 1.5 cm2 was more closely correlated with MDPG over 5 mmHg than that over 10 mmHg. This result suggests that the criteria of MDPG is considered to be changed to support the revised MS criteria. The lower MDPG group shows distinct characteristics within all patients with severe MS : further integrated study in this subgroup would be required.
