A paradoxical relationship between stroke and obesity (also known as the 'obesity paradox’) in the general population is still controversial. The aim of this study was to investigate whether the association between obesity and ischemic stroke is different in patients without and with AF. Moreover, we compared general and abdominal obesity in the prediction of ischemic stroke.
