The nanostructured TiO2:SnO2 composite and bilayered films are prepared using a sol-gel process and the humidity sensitive properties of the films are investigated. The films process the grain size of nanometer order and have nanoporous structure. The TiO2-20wt%SnO2 composite film shows high sensitivity with three orders change in the resistance during the relative humidity variation from 30 to 90%. The bilayered TiO2/SnO2 film exhibits a better linearity with narrower hysteresis loop in the resistance variation for relative humidity than the TiO2 and SnO2 films. The humidity sensitive properties in the TiO2:SnO2 composite and bilayered films are discussed.
