Electronic Structure and Magnetism of the PtNi(110) Alloy Surface

The PtNi alloy shows surface-oriented surface segregation: Pt enrichment at the (001) surface and Ni enrichment at the (110) one. In this study, we present the results of first principles calculations on the surface energy and the magnetism of the PtNi(110) surface, using the FlAPW method based on GGA.
