Performance of Diversity Combining and Equalization in Mobile Radio Channel

초록

Optimum diversity combining and equalization of ∏/4 shift nyquist RC-QDPSK(raised cosine quaternary differential phae shift keying) is theoretically analyzed and simulated by means of the Monte Carlo method, for Rayleigh fading channel. LMS(least mean square) algorithm is applied to equalization. Diversity reception is shown to be a powerful technique for reducing the effects of delay spread as well as AWGN and random FM noise if root mean square(ms) delay spread is small compared to the symbol duration. It is assumed that the diversity paths are statistically independent and each is characterized by the sum of delayed and independent Rayleigh fading beams.
