Improvement of coal combustion efficiecy for high injection rate and its effect on raceway behaviour

The present aim of coal injection at POSCO is to lower the iron production cost by increasing the coal injection rate together with diversifying the coal ranks. For this purpose, coal combustion behaviour has to be precisely clarified. Thus, in this paper the effects of oxygen enrichment and coal mixing on combustion efficiency were investigated under simulated raceway condition. In the pratical furnace operation the Influences of oxygen enrichment and PCR on raceway behaviour were also examined.
