초록

In this paper I first argue for the existence of an anaphor that must be bound in a certain local domain which excludes the c-command domain of its coarguments. I then proposes an account of the peculiar locality condition on this type of anaphor in terms of its semantic and/or pragmatic properties. This account suggests that the taxonomy of nominal expressions for the binding theory may be problematic or the distribution of anaphors is subject to not only to a syntactic constraint like Principle A of the binding theory but also to a semantic constraint.
