Measurement and estimations of bulk modulus for DME
초록
DME(Di-Methyl ether) has been drawn an attention as a promising alternative fuel for CI(Compression Ignition) engines, since the smoke free operation of an CI engine is possible. However, the problems such as low lubricity and high compressibility need to be investigated more thoroughly, when DME is used as an automative fuel. In this study, the measurements and calculation of DME's bulk modulus were carried out over the ranges of temperatures(-3℃∼53℃) and pressures(50∼250bar) using an apparatus built in the work. The results in this work showed that DME is prone to be compressed about three times compared to a diesel fuel.
