Tailoring the adsorption property of aluminosilicate zeolites through post-organic functionalization
초록
Zeolite molecular sieves are crucial in industrial adsorption and separation due to their micropore structure. However, tuning zeolite structures for specific applications is challenging. This presentation explores how various organic groups (alkyls, phenyls, organohalides, thiols, and amines) can be chemically functionalized onto the pore walls of zeolites like FAU, MOR, LTL, and MFI. Such functionalization systematically adjusts pore diameters and introduces specific functionalities, allowing precise control over the adsorption properties of aluminosilicate zeolites. For instance, functionalized zeolites can separate ethylene from ethane with an ideal-adsorbed-solution-theory selectivity of about 5876, nearly 90 times more efficient than current adsorbents.
