초록
This paper explores the attribution of Korean students and adults attribution of their success experience. Using an open-ended questionnaire, 1,157 (730 high school and university students and 427 adults) respondents were asked to list three important achievements in their life and to select their most important achievement. They were then asked: Why are you proud of the above achievement? Were there people around who supported and helped you? What type of support did you receive from the person? Overall, what do you do consider to be the most important factor contribut ing to you success? Students listed educated success and adults listed occupational success as their most important achievement. They were proud of their success because it was the result of their effort. As for social support, parents were listed as the most helpful. they type of support that they received was most likely to be affective in nature. Self-regulation was cited as the most important factor for their success. Similar pattern of results was obtained for failure experiences and their futures aspirations. Detailed analysis and implications of this study will be discussed.
