초록

Interictal spikes associated with temporal lobe epilepsy are thought to result from synchronous neuronal activity within the CA3 region of the hippocampus. To characterize the sequence of events associated with interictal spikes, the hippocampal regions involved in these spikes, and the nature of their involvement, we combined voltage-sensitive dye imaging and extracellular field recording of hippocampal-entorhinal cortical (HEC) slices under Mg-free conditions, which produce epileptiform activity. HEC slices from male adult rats were incubated in Mg-free artificial cerebrospinal fluid (aCSF), then stained with the voltage-sensitive dye, RH795.
