A DESIGN OF HISTORUCAL PLACE IN THE CITY THROUGH URBAN NARRATIVE

초록

This thesis is developed based on a design experiment on architectural representation in urban site by historical narrative. The study analogizes the urban places out of palimpsest superposed on top of each other, reinterprets the properties and the traces into the stories embedded in the city, and exhibits the strategy for architectural representation based on above mentioned methodologies. The design attempts to show the process how to represent the similarity between narrative related to the Last Empress and the heteronomous modernization of the Dynasty to criticize the recent historical restoration that only creates another replica.
