초록

Moter vehicle accidents in near impact cause more than fifty percents of drivers to be suffered from neck injuries. It is known that most neck injuries are associated with rear-end collisions at a speed of lower than 32km/h and are between Abbreviated Injur Scale(AIS) 1 and AIS 2. The research committee for automobile repair has adopted a typical low speed crash test based on an average damage level in the crash accidents to estimate an damageability and repairability. Two diffedent types of low speed crash tests such as the frontal barrier crashes, have been conducted by following the body.Using resultant test data of neck, we investigated an improved neck injuty criterion also, the effect of the position of the head restraints to reduce the frequency and severity of neck injury in real-end collision were invesigated.
