A Design Proposal For An Inner Square In the City Through Reversing Fragmented Memories

After Modernism, the city has reluctantly maintained the places generated by continual insertions of infrastructures. The study intends to investigate the other side of recently restored Chunggyechon, to criticize the fact how such nostalgic return to the past produces another loss in the city, and to explore the void condition filled with the lost substances instead of such one dimensional historical representation as memory replica. The main argument is focused on how to interpret such void condition in order to create a new city plaza that links with existing plazas and public places, that makes the notion of time persisted, and that eventually acts as a media to deliver the meaning of "Yeon(convergency)" to the city.
