하악관절에 발생한 색소성 융모결절성 활막염
Pigmented villonodular synovitis of right temporomandibular joint -A case report-
초록
Pigmented villonodular synovitis(PVNS) is an uncommon nonneoplastic, proliferative disorder of synovium that may involve joints, tendon sheaths, and bursae. It is considered to be a benign, inflammatory process, but it may develop as an aggressive local process with invasion of the contiguous structures and with adjacent bone destruction. The peak age incidence is in the third and fourth decades of life. The most commonly affected joint is the knee, and it less frequently involves the hip, shoulder, ankle, or wrist. PVNS of the temporomandibular joint(TMJ) is extremely rare. We report a case of PVNS which developed in right TMJ of a 38-year-old male.
