초록

Background: Active preoperative warming method for more than 1 hour reduces discrepancy between core and periphoral lemperature, resulting in reduction of degree of intraoperative hypothermia. However, one hour preoperative warming delays induction of anesthesia and has not been applied. This study evaluated the efficacy of active preoperative temperature controls without delay of anesthesia on the prevention of intra-operative hypothermia in cardiac surgical partents. Conclusions : The active warming just during pre-anesthetic penod reduccd the degree and frequency of hypothermia in patients undergoing cardiac surgery without delay of anesthesia. This might be especially valuable for the maintenance of body temperature in patients undergoing off-pump coroniry artery bypass graft surgery.
