Simultaneous Measurement of Zero-dispersion Wavelength and Nonlinear Coefficient of Highly Non-linear Fiber by Four Wave Mixing

We report a new method of simultaneous measurement of the zero dispersion wavelength and nonlinear coefficient of a highly non-linear fiber based on four wave mixing (FWM) technique. The dispersion wavelength and nonlinear coefficient were determined from the precise measurement of phase matched frequency for the FWM signal generation and from the comparison of the measured data with well-known theory.
