GENDER, RACE, AND SEVERITY OF LIVER DISEASE INFLUENCE ELTROMBOPAG EXPOSURE IN THROMBO-CYTOPENIC PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC LIVER DISEASE

Purpose: Eltrombopag is the first oral small-molecule, non-peptide thrombopoietin receptor agonist and is approved for the treatment of chronic idiopathic (immune) thrombocytopenic purpura(ITP), and is being investigated in chronic liver disease (CLD) patients with thrombocytopenia to manage the risk of bleeding complications for those patients requiring elective invasive procedures. The purpose of the present analysis was to describe the population pharmacokinetics (PPK) of eltrombopag in thrombocytopenic patients with CLD, and to determine if there were any important patient characteristics that could influence eltrombopag exposure.
