The MPPT Control for PMSG Wind Generation Systems by Using the Estimated Wind Speed

초록

Most of the Maximum Power Point Tracking(MPPT) controls for a wind generation system are based on the unknown wind speed. In these methods, a Power Signal Feedback(PSF) method and an optimal Tip Speed Ratio(TSR) method, a Perturbation & Observation(P&O) method are included. However, this paper proposes a estimating technique of the wind speed using the efficiency curve of the blade. By the proposed wind speed estimated approach, the Maximum Power Point(MPP) can be easily calculated and improved. The modeling for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator(PMSG) and a back-to-back converter and the MPPT algorithm are presented, and then simulation results verify the algorithm.
