Introduction of a Facile Plasma Treatment Method on Gel Electrolyte Improving the Electrochemical Performance

초록

Herein, a facile oxygen (O2) atmospheric plasma treatment is introduced to enhance the hydrophilicity and ion conductivity of polyvinyl alcohol-based solid electrolyte (PVA-SE). Optimal plasma conditions are determined by adjusting plasma power and treatment time. The results show that PVA-SE treated at 120 W for 5 s exhibits the highest hydrophilicity due to the formation of hydrophilic functional groups (-CO, >C=O) without structural degradation, as confirmed by XPS analysis and contact angle measurements. Devices incorporating plasma-treated PVA-SE/Na2SO4, PVA-SE/H2SO4, and PVA-SE/KOH exhibit capacitance increases of 2.04, 2.03, and 2.10 times, respectively, compared to untreated PVA-SE. These findings confirm that atmospheric plasma treatment successfully functionalizes PVA-SE, improving wettability and ion conductivity, which significantly enhances electrochemical performance. 본 연구는 2025 년도 산업통상자원부 및 산업기술기획평가원(KEIT) 연구비 지원에 의한 연구임(RS-2022- 00156073).
